Stay away!!!!! First experience was in 2104, November when I left my engagement ring to be adjusted (two sizes down) and plated with white gold (later found out it was actualy a layer of rhodium). All good, loveley job...it was only when I got home I realized they actualy decided to keep the piece of 18crt gold they had cut off on top of the £50 I had to pay for the service. Second experience was a few weeks ago, left the ring once again to be plated with rhodium/white gold, picked it up and 4 days after the white layer peeled off. I need to mention I have an office job, nowhere near chemicals or anything like that. Took the ring back to the shop, got a horrendous customer service from the lady at the counter who made me feel like I was not entitled to ask any question. Told me they do not offer any guarantee for this kind of service, but will do it again for free BUT this time only!!! Felt disgusted and cheated for the second time. Got the ring back a few days after and surprise: it does not fit my finger any more. The lady at the counter again said it has nothing to do with them, they only plated the ring in rhodium. She was lying to my face. CONCLUSION: they decided to take the money in another way, cutting a little bit more of my ring. I have no words to describe the way they made me feel,so angry. But it is only my fault for going back.....never again. For your own sake please stay away!

WATCH OUT!! I was charged for a full service on my 14ct gold watch it came back and stopped working after 3 weeks along with receiving terrible service and the manager being rude to me. I sent an e-mail of complaint to the head office regarding the service received and their Manager and instead of sending the complaint to someone senior they sent it to the rude Manager, so no surprise it came back without the full service I paid for. I took it to Debenhams as it had been recommended by several people so it seemed a good place to go. I informed the watch repairer that the watch had just had a full service but seemed to stop working three weeks after getting it back. The man opened the back on my request to see if the battery had moved and to my horror it was filthy, so he said to me did you say that you had just had this serviced I said yes. This time I asked again for a full service and DID get a full service and you can clearly see the difference. Well done watch repairer at Debenhams and SHAME on you MALLARDS.

Downsized a 10 carat white gold ring one size, aside from the fact that is now fits properly, you can't tell they've touched it, it looks like new.

Pleasant and helpful staff, even though l thought they undervalued my items. The price of gold has it's ups and downs!
